SESSION PLANNING GUIDE
Oh Dear...What Shall I Wear?
Boudoir photography doesn't always equal lingerie. I recommend you bring a variety of looks to your session. My goal with your session is to tell a bit of a story. So think about your style, your favorite things, what you would be found doing home alone on a Sunday morning.
A couple bra and panty sets. They don't have to match.
A cute fitted t shirt with undies or no undies.
A body suit.
A sexy robe.
A statement jewelry piece.
Your birthday suit. Boudoir is one of the occasions where less can definitely be more. If you decide you'd like to have me create some artistic nudes, you can trust that I will photograph you in a classy and beautiful way.

1-2 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Shop for wardrobe
Make your hair appointment for 2-3 weeks before your session.
2-3 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Get your hair done. I don't recommend trying anything new right before your session. If you hate your hair, you'll hate your pictures.
Make all your girly maintenance appointments such as mani/pedi and waxing appointment. I DO NOT recommend tanning beds or spray tans. Both tend to appear orange on camera. I recommend a neutral color on nails.
Try on wardrobe if you haven't already to make sure everything fits and there isn't something missing or ripped etc...
THE WEEK OF YOUR SESSION
Get a mani/pedi
Drink extra water. It will help your skin to look amazing.
THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Shave if you don't wax.
Wash your hair. My stylist recommends "day old dirty" hair rather than freshly shampooed the day of the session.
Get a good night's sleep.
Go through wardrobe and make sure you have everything you need including accessories.
THE MORNING OF YOUR SESSION
Shave if you haven't waxed.
Moisturize your face and body.
Breathe. If you're nervous (most women are) take a moment and remind yourself that this is going to be one of best experiences you've ever had. Girl, you got this. I promise.
"Beauty is the opposite of perfection-it's about confidence, charisma & CHARACTER."
WHERE DO I GO THE DAY OF MY SHOOT?
My goal with all of my sessions is to make the images emotional and believable. Lifestyle boudoir is best photographed in a home and that is always my first choice as far as location. If we are shooting in my home the address for you is:
1196 LaFollette Rd., Mount Horeb, WI 53572
I am about 6 miles south of Mount Horeb. I have found Google Maps to be best for finding me. The iPhone Maps app has led clients astray in the past.
If we are shooting in your home here are some things to do to prepare.
Send me your address and some quick iPhone pictures of your bedroom, the spare bedroom (if you have one), living room, kitchen and any other area you think might be good to shoot in. Preferably during the time we will be shooting.
We do not need it spotless but dusting surfaces and tidying up any clutter is helpful. Or splurge and hire someone to take care of it all you if you don't already have a house cleaner.
Arrange for child care if needed.
I love animals and with lifestyle portraiture they can definitely be part of your session. That being said, you might not want your bed to be full of dog hair the day of your shoot. A fresh, clean pair of sheets is a must if we're shooting in your home.
I we are shooting in an Airbnb......
Please send me the link to the listing so I can see what we're working with. I will also need the address when you receive it from the host.
Confirm check-in procedure.
WHEN WILL I SEE MY PHOTOS?
I am happy to offer same day viewing of your images! Here's how it works!
Once we're done shooting you can hang out and relax at my house or head out for a bit of lunch if you'd like. I typically need about an hour to cull through the images and do a quick, basic edit.
Once I'm done we'll sit down and view your images either on my flat screen tv if we shot at my place or my laptop if we shot an an airbnb or your place. Unless you have Apple TV. In that case we can connect via Airplay to the TV.
There is a very good chance you'll cry. And if you do, I will cry with you!
Next, I will help you make all of your selections. I offer prints, albums, glass image boxes and digitals.
Over the next couple of weeks, I will take your final choices and do the full retouch on them. Digitals are typically ready for delivery within 1-2 weeks and are delivered via digital download. If we've been emailing via a work email address I would recommend giving me your personal email for delivery ;) Albums and prints take 4-6 weeks to come back from the lab and will be shipped directly to your doorstep.
