Oh Dear...What Shall I Wear?

Boudoir photography doesn't always equal lingerie.  I recommend you bring a variety of looks to your session.  My goal with your session is to tell a bit of a story.  So think about your style, your favorite things, what you would be found doing home alone on a Sunday morning.

Some ideas.....

  • A couple bra and panty sets. They don't have to match.

  • A cute fitted t shirt or tank top with undies or no undies.

  • A body suit.

  • A sexy robe.

  • Your birthday suit. Boudoir is one of the occasions where less can definitely be more. If you decide you'd like to have me create some artistic nudes, you can trust that I will photograph you in a classy and beautiful way.

The only piece of lingerie I recommend you NOT bring are babydolls. They tend to square women’s shape and add bulk to the mid-section.

BOUDOIR TIMELINE

1-2 MONTHS BEFORE YOUR SESSION

  • Shop for wardrobe

  • Make your hair appointment for 2-3 weeks before your session.

2-3 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR SESSION

  • Get your hair done. I don't recommend trying anything new right before your session. If you hate your hair, you'll hate your pictures.

  • Make all your girly maintenance appointments such as mani/pedi and waxing appointment. I DO NOT recommend tanning beds or spray tans. Both tend to appear orange on camera. I recommend a neutral color on nails.

  • Try on wardrobe if you haven't already to make sure everything fits and there isn't something missing or ripped etc...

THE WEEK OF YOUR SESSION

  • Get a mani/pedi

  • Wax

  • Drink extra water. It will help your skin to look amazing.

THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SESSION

  • Shave if you don't wax.

  • Wash your hair. My stylist recommends "day old dirty" hair rather than freshly shampooed the day of the session.

  • Go through wardrobe and make sure you have everything you need including accessories. Cut tags off that show through lace.

  • Get a good night's sleep.

THE MORNING OF YOUR SESSION

  • Shave if you haven't waxed.

  • Moisturize your face and body.

  • Wear loose fitting clothing for your hair and makeup to avoid lines on your stomach and legs from tight jeans etc..

  • Breathe. If you're nervous (most women are) take a moment and remind yourself that this is going to be one of best experiences you've ever had. Girl, you got this. I promise.
