SESSION PLANNING GUIDE
Oh Dear...What Shall I Wear?
Boudoir photography doesn't always equal lingerie. My goal with your session is to tell a bit of a story. So think about your style, your favorite things, what you would be found doing home alone on a Sunday morning.
A bra and panty set. They don't have to match.
A cute fitted t shirt with undies.
A body suit.
Do you follow me on Instagram? Lot's of inspiration over there!
2-3 WEEKS BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Get your hair done. I don't recommend trying anything new right before your session. If you hate your hair, you'll hate your pictures.
Make all your girly maintenance appointments such as mani/pedi and waxing appointment. I DO NOT recommend tanning beds or spray tans. Both tend to appear orange on camera. I recommend a neutral color on nails.
Try on wardrobe if you haven't already to make sure everything fits and there isn't something missing or ripped etc...
THE WEEK OF YOUR SESSION
Get a mani/pedi
Drink extra water. It will help your skin to look amazing.
THE NIGHT BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Shave if you don't wax.
Get a good night's sleep.
Go through wardrobe and make sure you have everything you need including accessories.
THE MORNING OF YOUR SESSION
Shave if you haven't waxed.
Moisturize your face and body.
Breathe. If you're nervous (most women are) take a moment and remind yourself that this is going to be one of best experiences you've ever had. Girl, you got this. I promise.
As far as hair and makeup goes, if you will be doing it yourself keep in mind that the camera will cut your makeup down about 30%. So feel free to go a little heavier than normal. False lashes photograph fantastic and I highly recommend them. If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed in the makeup department I have found that ladies at Sephora typically do a great job or check with your local salon! Many salons also offer makeup application.
Where do I go the day of my shoot?
